I've lost my proof of purchase and the buyer hasn't received the clothes.

I sold some clothes for £14 and the buyer contacted me to say she hasn't received them.
She's been nice about it but obviously wants the money back.
Do I just have to cut my loses and refund myself because I've last the proof of postage? TIA

When did she purchase & when did you post?
Delivery is very slow lately, I reckon, blame the run up to Xmas!

If I remember correctly you'll need to refund the buyer and claim the loss back from the post office yourself. But you'll need the proof of postage to do that.

sorry, I think you have to suck it up & refund. See if you can use Ebay cancel purchase (on "buyers' request") so that you can at least get your fees back. If the proof of posting turns up then you should be able to claim from Royal Mail for lost item.

Was it £14 for the item plus she paid more for the postage? You have to refund the full amount including postage, anyway.

Sorry OP but you'll just have to refund. Tell the buyer you're doing this and ask them to let you know if the package turns up (assuming it didn't arrive).

This isn't true. With proof of postage and evidence related to an ebay listing you can make a claim from Royal Mail and get something back. Sometimes they just provide a book of stamps (this was the compensation I received yesterday for my most recent claim), and sometimes they refund the total amount (which happened with my previous claim).
