How long do I have to wait for non-payment to cancel a sale?

Sold an item of clothing yesterday by auction. It sold for a measly £1.20 (99p starting price, only 2 bids). Only worn once and worth a lot more, I should have started at a higher price which is what I usually do.

Buyer hasn't paid yet. How long can I wait before I assume the sale is null & void, I would like to relist at a higher price if I can.

Obviously if the buyer pays up in the next day or 2 I will honour the sale and send them the item.

I cancel it after 24 hours if they don't pay . They get enough bloody emails to let them know and I've been messed around so much in eBay . I think you are supposed to wait 48 though .

Jessie does it matter if I didn't send them a payment request?

Ebay automatically tells them they have to pay don't they ...?

48 hours then you can open an unpaid case.

she has paid now, so I just have to suck it up. My own fault for not listing with a higher start price.

Never start an auction price at less than you would accept for the item.

imjessie · 26/11/2016 16:31

You can say the item is damaged and with draw it for sale if you are that bothered .

WiseOwlLady · 26/11/2016 19:20

You will probably get (deservedly) negative feedback for that!

Yeah I've got a 100% positive rating and been on eBay for donkeys years, not going to do anything unethical or stupid.

One lucky lady has got a great bargain jacket for her son, hope she appreciates it.
