Accidentally refunded a buyer, any hope of getting it back?

So, first off I'm an idiot with fat fingers. I tried to give a buyer a partial refund as there was a small hole in something I'd sold and not realised, they opened a return case but we're happy with a partial refund. But rather than do this, I've refunded the whole lot which had now closed the case automatically. Is there any hope of getting my money back? Or do I chalk it down to experience. It wasn't a huge amount but I could kick myself.

Unless the buyer does the right thing and sends it back to you voluntarily, then no, you won't get it back..... sorry!

Hi OP,

Why not just send a PayPal Request For Payment with a note inviting the Buyer to check their PayPal account for the full amount coming back in and then to send you the amount you had agreed with them? You could tell them that you have processed the partial refund in this way because of eBay's fee structure.

Whatever you do, remember to check whether you've got the Final Value Fee back - it may happen automatically, or you may have to contact eBay to retrieve it.

Andrew.
