I've sold someone 2 therapy pillows stated in my ad as approx 16" (as that's what everyone else seemed to be putting for the same items.)

I've got an email today asking me to explain why i lied in my ad and the pillows are only 13". I've still got 2 left so me and dh have measured1 each and both said 15" or 16" (approx 16"?)

She now asked for a full refund including postage which she wants now and she'll post them back to me tomorrow. What would you do? I think i should get them back then refund.

you can go to ebay (through their help centre) and say the prob and they will explain
or explain to her what has happened and that you measured them to be about 16"

also did you state a returns policy if you didn't you might not have to give a refund

failing that most people do not refund the postage that it costs the buyer to return them to yourself and most sellers DONOT refund before they have received the item back!!

SNOWBall4girlz · 23/01/2007 22:13

I think that you should ask her to return them before you refund not sure of the proper procedure but would not give her the money til you have the goods back
plus do you have to refund both setsof postage surely not?

SNOWBall4girlz · 23/01/2007 22:15

tinkerbellie sounds better informed ~I have only refunded when things have got lost in the post and not often.

PhoenixGirl · 23/01/2007 22:24

Ok thanks. She has agreed to send them back to me first and has said she won't take any further action and won't leave any feedback unless i give her negative then she says she'll report me to ebay WTF!!!

She is paying the postage to get them back to me.

I don't have a returns policy but didn't think in time and have now said i'll refund her. tbh i can't be arsed now i'll just relist them and sell them to someone who wants them when i get them back.

I personally would wait till you get them back, them check your measurements, and if you were correct report her (stroppy cow) to e-bay. She may have bought these then changed her mind and is using the measurement thing as an excuse!

BURNINGTHECANDLE · 23/01/2007 22:45

The usual refund social etiquette in my experience is refund on reciept of returned goods...and if you haven't stated a refund policy then you aren't obliged to refund me smell ratty don't refund until you recieve the goods also check her score is it 100% or does she have form for this type of thing! Hold tight sounds like your in the right!

PhoenixGirl · 23/01/2007 22:48

Grrrrrrrrrr this is annoying me now.

I've told her to go ahead and report me as she seems determined to do it. (yeah she tipped me over the edge with her constant moaning email)

What happens now?

OP posts:
PhoenixGirl · 23/01/2007 22:49

Yeah she's got 100% feedback

BURNINGTHECANDLE · 23/01/2007 22:53

Let her report you Ebay will investigate and the worse she can do is leave you negative feedback that you can respond to anyway Dippy cow that she is she is just trying it on don't worry

tinkerbellie · 23/01/2007 22:55

you can actually report her if she is harrassing you by email , especially as you have already agreed to refund her

how many feedback has she got though, she may have only used it a couple of times!

if she does report you to ebay they will carry out an investigation (which doesn't mean much) and seeing as how you've agreed to refund her even though you still say they were the size that you described them as they won;t doo anthing

DONOT leave her feedback untikl she has left it for you as if you leaveher bad feedback she will leave you bad feedback to be spiteful!

PhoenixGirl · 23/01/2007 23:09

She emailed back saying "i've said i want to resolve this amicably and don't want to report you" So wtf is she going on about????

I'm past caring and know the worst i'll prob get is neg feedback so i've told her to still go ahead and report me.

Her feedback is 130 sommat

Another email saying "all i want is a refund and don't want to report you" so for a quiet life i've told her to bloody send them back but i am gonna leave her negative and don't care if she does for me.

You can respond to feedback even if you already left some, just to justify your actions etc
