I ordered a hammam towel from ebay, free p&p if that's relevant, from a seller in Turkey. I have just received this message:-

i sent you 2 times item. i sent your order and also another buyer items. they are cyan and pink one . when you recieve the other can you please shipp them to real buyers than i can sent you the shipping cost . buyer also in united kingdom . can you do me this favor please

Seems very odd, is there some scam here i am not seeing or is it just likely that if i send the parcel on i won't get my postage back?

Very odd. If it were me I'd send them a message back saying it won't be possible for me to do that, sorry. See what they say to that. Then get a refund through Ebay, open a case. Weird.

Ellie06 · 16/06/2016 19:43

That is really cheeky of them, I'd say no

Janek · 16/06/2016 19:48

Dp thought it sounded like he had done it deliberately... And i can't tell if he means its one package or two. I wouldn't send it on without having the postage paid first. Apart from anything, what eith royal mail being so expensive nowadays posting on could be more expensive than the original towel was in the first place...

Don't accept the delivery. They will have to have made a customs declaration and you will be accepting the item. Highly unlikely but there could be a banned substance in the package or something else illegal.

Janek · 16/06/2016 21:36

Hang on, if it comes to me, how am i supposed to know where to send it even?!? I think i won't accept anything not addressed to me, but if it might be mine ie with my name on it, then i ordered it and paid for it.

Unless i didn't...

Dodgy. Report it to Ebay.

abbsismyhero · 16/06/2016 21:48

Report it to ebay they could try and charge you for there order claiming it didn't arrive

rollonthesummer · 16/06/2016 21:53

Definitely report to eBay. Sounds very dodgy!! What's their feedback score like?

Janek · 16/06/2016 22:00

Pretty high, 98.something i think.

OP posts:
19lottie82 · 17/06/2016 08:01

98% is a very low feedback!

Anything under 99% is pretty dodgy and should be avoided..... Unless they have only sold a low number of items and had an unlucky experience with a dodgy buyer.

I'd ignore the message.

19lottie82 · 17/06/2016 08:03

I can't see a potential scam here apart from the seller maybe attempting to save on shipping from turkey, to the next uk customer......

smilingeyes11 · 17/06/2016 17:49

no I just think they sent them to wrong people so want you to send them on to other buyer and vice versa - but quite frankly, not your problem. I would ask her to resend the right one to you.

JE678 · 17/06/2016 18:25

Really? You think they had a run on Hammam towels? Coincidentally both coming to the uk? Are they a prolific seller OP? I really smell a rat with this one.

Janek · 24/06/2016 12:24

So, the plot thickens, my hammam towel has arrived. It is exactly as i expected. I have not received anyone else's towel. Yet.
