Selling a few things at the moment, having clear out. I've not used eBay for selling for a while but have noticed recently that buyers email me with really low offers on things that are for auction. EG. a child's jacket for sale starting at £5.99 + P&P, I get an email saying "will you take £3 for it?". Sorry but I list items at the lowest price I'm willing accept for them. If it's not worth my while packing and sending them I'd rather just give it to charity. I understand people wanting a bargain but it just annoys me.

Is it the done thing now to contact sellers asking this or are they just chancing their luck? Maybe I'm missing something.....

Cheeky really, if you'd put 'buy it now' or 'best offers' I could understand it, people want things for nothing!
I was selling a memorabilia item for £45 and they offered me £20, er no, I sold it the next day for very close to my asking price. If you think your price is worth it, stick with it, like you I'd rather the item go to charity than give away to a chancer for virtually nothing.

Do they add a reason why they need it? I sold a lawnmower and was told to accept £20 'so I can mow the lawn so my toddler can use my garden'.
Or they pressure you into accepting the offer today as they are going away tomorrow.
