Final postage fee

I don't understand this with eBay. In my seller fees they now take out a final postage fee. How can this be fair as I only charge buyer what it costs me to post? Do I need to put up postage to cover this extra fee?

Ah ha that's the beauty of it, it's against ebays terms and conditions to increase your postage costs to cover their fees!

I don't understand why they do that,it seems morally wrong!

Might be against their policies but I do.
If postage is £2.85 I charge £3.30 so the 10% is covered.

But then I don't add anything for packaging as I usually reuse boxes/jiffy bags etc

Yes,I think I shall have to do that also.

My understanding is that lots of people were selling stuff cheaply and then charging crazy postage fees.
So item is sold for 99p with £10 postage. Ebay were charging fees on item cost so getting 10p.
They didn't like not getting their cut so they now charge 10% of the final amount paid as this way they get their full cut of whatever the seller takes home.
They say it was done to regulate postage charges but I think that is a secondary reason.
Mostly they want their cut
cynical much?
