I sold some body cream and gel on ebay and I definitely haven't used them. The buyer has received them earlier this week and has now accused me of sending used items. I told them I have not done this and they have sent a photo of the 4 products and the tubes are all squeezed and look empty. I didn't send them like this!!! Why would I?!
Feels like she has used them and is pulling a fast one.

How did you post them? Your receipt should have the package weight on it and empty tubes weigh less than full ones!

Skittlesss · 16/04/2016 17:41

Haaaa clever thinking. I posted them 2nd class recorded :) should I tell them to weigh them?

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 16/04/2016 17:45

Lol at cheryl fucker.

OurBlanche · 16/04/2016 17:46

Yes - let her know you have proof they were full when you posted them. Also, can you open a complaint about her with the info re weight, included - I don't do ebay, sorry.

I have used this when accused of sending an empty package to a grumpy customer. But showing her the receipt with the weight clearly marked disappeared her like magic.

Lol @ Cheryl Fucker

I've asked her to weigh them. I've reported to ebay as well. I have a lot of feedback and have never had this before. I would refund if I thought I was in the wrong, but I know I am not.

Someone did this to me once. Damaged the packaging and used the item saying that's how she received it. eBay refunded. It's put me off eBay. I took photos of the item before I sent it, it was brand new

FeelingSmurfy · 16/04/2016 18:04

The only proof is weight, because you could take a picture and then squeeze it all out before sending.

I hope eBay dismiss the claim and it puts the buyer off pulling a stunt like this again!

Skittlesss · 16/04/2016 18:16

I hope they respond. I feel sick that someone's pulling this. It's not the money, it's the principle. I do not think it's a leak as they'd have felt it all in the bag. Bloody liars.

Parcel was 0.156kg and items added upto 150ml. So that adds up right with the tubes and envelope!

Ooh weighing them is a genius idea wouldn't have thought of that. I suspect you won't be hearing to much more from her now!

Skittlesss · 16/04/2016 18:24

Just weighed a similar item to one which I sold. 50ml tube weighed 0.51kg!!

OP posts:
Skittlesss · 16/04/2016 18:24

Missed a 0 there. 0.052. So I think they defo tricking me

Smile

Crafters trick. I have recommended it a few times after I was told about it by another seller. It doesn't happen often but when it does it is really nice to have a nigh on foolproof legal 2-fingered response!

summerwinterton · 16/04/2016 18:29

sounds like she is trying to claim her old used items are what you sent her. Nothing you can do really, if she opens a case and negs I doubt eBay will listen if you tell them the weight of what you sent.

Skittlesss · 16/04/2016 18:32

Will see what they respond with. I would have forgotten the receipt had the weight on it if I hadn't posted on here.

OurBlanche · 16/04/2016 18:52

It has helped before, summerwinterton. The crafting forum I am on recommends it for quite a few disputes. The PO receipts is an independent, unbiased verification of postage.

19lottie82 · 16/04/2016 22:42

Unfortunately if she opens a case, she will win. The reciept with weight of the parcel won't make a difference.

It may however scare her off from opening a case in the first place.

wobblywindows · 19/04/2016 20:58

Great suggestion re the weight on the posting slip - I must remember that. Regarding the - "buyers always win" idea: I've found the ebay chat option very helpful in the past, when I had an issue with a buyer. It's all done through a typed chat window (not video). The ebay guy looked at my listing and what I told him, and maybe he made some notes somewhere, because he said there wouldn't be a problem and there wasn't. He also emailed me a copy of our ebay chat transcript, so presumably that was pinned to the listing notes somehow.
Good luck.

Skittlesss · 19/04/2016 21:41

Thanks will remember that if it happens again :)

She came back with the correct weights and basically said that it's all ok. Weird.

Not weird, she realised she had been caught out. Block her!
