It's for a plate rack. It's big so local pick up only. Do you think there might be a last minute bidding war or am I counting my chickens?
here it is There are 10 watchers and a lady in Yorkshire has asked me to consider posting it.

A lot of people will leave it to the last minute, but I would consider finding out postage costs and sending it to the woman in Yorkshire!

MegaLegs · 09/01/2007 10:54

I have measured and weighed it, will consult Royal Mail website for postage.

Agree there will be a frenzy at the last minute.

Give the woman the costs as she can then decide if she wants to enter the bidding.

That's very nice MegaLegs! I'm afraid the outcome is in the lap of the gods. I've sold a few things on ebay & it's a real pain when people ask you to post very heavy things. Your rack would have to be couriered - check the parcelforce website. I sent a chair once for about 12 quid, but it was a lot lighter than your plate rack. if you do end up doing this, remember to factor in the cost of the packaging on top of the courier charge. let the woman know the delivery charges before she buys it - I've had people 'disappear' after winning an item 'cause they underestimated the total price - very annoying.
Should you have to relist, try to have the auction finishing in the evening (more people able to log on).
Apologies if you know this stuff already...

Am getting quite excited now. I bought in a charity shop last summer but got home and realised that we have no wall space in our kitchen, a shame because I love it.

Let me know what happens!

MegaLegs · 09/01/2007 13:31

Oh no it didn't sell . I panicked in the last few minutes thinking someone might swoop in and get it for £25, I've relisted it with postage this time and with an early evening finishing time.

Just seen this MegaLegs - how fantastic! It's so satisfying when that happens. I recently sold a collection of Vogue mags (modern ones, not vintage) for £122!!! Would have just been grateful to get rid to be honest...
