waiting for feedback

Hi

I'm very new to eBay but have a lot of niche interest books that have been selling well. I've sent out 12 parcels and only 2 people have left feedback.
They will all have received their parcels by now and I've left them all feedback as they paid quickly.
What is the usual timeframe? Do people have to leave it quickly or do they even have to do it at all?
I don't buy so haven't needed to do It myself but I would be doing it as soon as i received the item to in my mind 'finalise the transaction'.
I'm probs just impatient and want to get my first little star so people will want to buy from me!

Buyers don't have to leave feedback - although Ebay does email them a few reminders - and my experience is that probably about half do. I know it's frustrating and you want to build up your score, but it's just a matter of being patient I'm afraid.

Sometimes people leave feedback quite a long time after the transaction too - that always makes me wonder what triggered them finally getting round to it.

Daffodil90 · 13/04/2016 20:19

Ahh, that's disappointing. I assumed they had to.
Trouble being impatient is my middle name haha. I'll just go list a load more and hope for the best!

I don't always leave feedback. I intend too, but sometimes forget until I log in and see that "feedback outstanding" message.

I purposefully don't leave feedback for anyone who hounds me to do so. That's horrid.

MsBlandingsBuildsHerDreamHouse · 13/04/2016 20:23

I so agree Anchor. It's completely counterproductive to pester people!

CaptainAnkles · 13/04/2016 20:23

Quite often people don't leave any for ages and then send lots in one go, I do that.
As a buyer, I would rather leave feedback in my own time, it kind of annoys me when sellers send messages asking me to do it.

Daffodil90 · 13/04/2016 20:24

No I definately wouldn't ask for it. It wouldn't sit well, id rather they gave it freely because they wanted to not because I hounded it out of them.
Patience it is!

I do mine in bulk every few weeks.

nauticant · 13/04/2016 23:26

I've received feedback on about 60% of my sales.

VulcanWoman · 29/05/2016 20:08

I don't pester buyers for feedback but I message a seller if they haven't left me any feedback, how very dare they.

Gingefringe · 16/06/2016 15:41

Never pester people for feedback. I sell quite a lot on eBay and would say that 40/50% leave feedback - very irritating but nothing can be done about it.

As a seller I don't leave feedback until the buyer has initially left feedback for me Biscuit
