Postage costs more than actual items

I have only recently ebayed for collection only but now I'm looking at sorting out my smaller items to sell. I haven't done that for years though and am shocked at the prices for posting small parcels now - it wasn't like that when I used to do it more often.

So just a general question - since postage price hikes, has it massively affected selling cheaper items? Are buyers as likely to pay for expensive postage even though the actual item may be worth less than the postage?

I can't believe someone would pay 50p for a babygrow and then £2.50 for p&p. Seems nuts.
Am thinking maybe a car boot sale/table top sale somewhere might be better and less hassle but if I can shift stuff now (particularly winter items) Ebay is probably the best place.

What are some tips for offering better value to buyers?

Its minimum 2.80 if sent as a small parcel. It's a lot cheaper - under £1 if you can squeeze it into a large letter 😊

Pack clothing flat. If it's under 1" thick it's a LOt cheaper.

You can keep cardboard from cereal boxes then put that inside a kids top/ wrap it around and then post as a large letter.

See if you have a local NCT sale as that's a lot less facto get rid of lots of kids clothes in one hit. Our NCT will also take anything unsold to charity if you want to do so

£3 is still cheap for a babygrow though, depending on make.

I was thinking of doing bundles, but thought the p&p I'd have to charge might put people off. But if people are still buying regardless...!
