seller threatening to come to my house!

I bought some bangles off eBay and when they arrived they were a bit grubby and the elastic in one was stretched and totally unusable. So I emailed the seller ^ that basically. She has come back so stroppy telling me to send everything back to her address ( which is actually 30 mins away from me) and said she new she should have given it to someone she knows. 😕 So I sent back that I would be happy to receive a partial refund to cover rethreading the bracelet.
I heard nothing for days so I opened a case.
She has now come back at me, moaning that I didn't pay very much for the items and that she had my address and would be coming round to collect everything

My dh says she has the right to decline the partial refund and to have a full refund and everything back. Is this the case?
How will eBay decide? I did send her picture showing the broken brace let.

well do you want to keep them? if she collects you dont have to pay postage, but then you have no proof you sent them

Yes I did want to keep them, I just want to get the broken one fixed.

I just want to know if eBay will ok a partial refund?

I paid via PayPal

Yes she can decline to give you a partial refund ,refund you fully and have them back .

Ugh! That is so annoying. I really like the items but font feel it is fair to have paid for a broken item. Hmm

What Floral said but do not let her collect: she needs to send you a label so that there is a tracking number for the return, otherwise you have no evidence that they have been returned and she does not have to refund.

She was quite aggressive in her reply. If she does turn up then I could take cash from her?

Just ask her to give you cash back when she collects. Doesn't have to be complicated.

Tell her you don't want her to collect and everything must be conducted through the resolution centre.

Chances are she won't show up, she's prob just trying to back you into a corner.

Unfortunately you , or eBay, can't force a partial refund, that's up to the seller. She can decline and refund in full upon return, but she must provide a pre paid label for the return of the goods.

Don't get involved with any petty arguments, just stick to the facts and if she gives you any grief, ignore her.

Ah right. So she has to pay for them to be returned?
I really don't want some deranged woman turning up at my house while I'm alone with a baby

no - she needs to refund via paypal not cash

eBay will find in your favour but full refund and return unless it is a no fault refund

and threatening to come to your house, well you need to call the police don't you?

it doesn't sound like "threatening to come to OP's house." It sounds like "Let's get this sorted the simplest way possible" If you don't want her at your house Uurrgh, then ask to meet somewhere neutral.

Honestly, do you want this sorted or not?

I meant why mustn't she refund via cash, why must she refund via Paypal, ruddy MN no chance to correct any typos, argh.

So the OP has a paper trail.

Never accept cash, especially if it's some mad deranged woman threatening to come round to your house. I would actually forward the correspondence to ebay irrespective of any refunding. She sounds dreadful.

Let's imagine the OP didn't mind the seller coming to her home to collect the item. It's no risk to the OP if the seller wants to refund in cash. It's only a risk to the seller.

Op, I've been dealing with eBay nut jobs for years, she won't turn up at your house, trust me.

I hope not! I am a bit annoyed because I like the item and wanted it. But I am happy to have a refund. I just want to clarify that she would need to pay for the postage back? Or do I need to pay to post it back?

because op could file not received and get her money back twice? you have to refund via the payment method made.

OP the seller should provide you with a pre paid returns label, which can be tracked. If one isn't provided ask for one and if she doesn't okay ball, call eBay and request one.

lol @ RH saying blindingly obvious. Mind you , Ebay HQ tends to shaft sellers anyway they can, so wouldn't surprise me if that didn't matter.

The messages come across as quite deranged and hysterical lots of capital letters and exclamation marks Confused
So I don't want to risk some looney turning up. I have just messaged to say she needs to send me a prepaid label to return everything and warned her not to turn up at my house. I say it's a woman but I'm not 100% sure. The username is male but I assume it is a woman due to it being female jewellery. Thankfully I have a large dog.
