To prove it?

Allegedly marks on leather

I assume there were no marks when you posted it. And you packed it properly so not damaged in transit. You can ask for photos. But they'll probably damage it themselves then take photos.

BrendaandEddie · 19/11/2015 13:52

I didn't see any. Or on my photos.

Packages in a box

Yes first thing you do.

Then assess.

are they after a partial refund or return?

BrendaandEddie · 19/11/2015 13:55

Return.

OP posts:
BrendaandEddie · 19/11/2015 13:55

Thanks both.

hmm

depends

I imagine they will open a case if you don't accept the return, anyway and paypal won't ask them for photos, so doesn't seem much point - just agree to it, say you will inspect when it arrives back at your house and then you will issue a refund.

Good luck
one of the crap things about ebay, they are always on buyer's side.

Anastasie · 19/11/2015 13:58

Or you could offer them choice of a part refund once you have seen pictures. Whichever would suit you best really.

They get to choose though. You lose fees+postage with a return, while part refund is just that.

BrendaandEddie · 19/11/2015 14:01

If she refuses to do pics what would you advise? Offer money off to avoid hassle?

OP posts:
Anastasie · 19/11/2015 14:03

If no pics forthcoming then it's neither here nor there - they are unreasonable and may be trying it on, but you cannot win this, probably...

if pics it'll make it easier for you to tell if it is a scam. Might be worth arguing the toss on dispute, if you're sure and have photos to prove it.

BrendaandEddie · 19/11/2015 14:14

Pics arrived. Id simply polish but hey ho. Am letting return.

OP posts:
Anastasie · 19/11/2015 14:18

sigh

there is a whole world of fussy ebay buyers out there. At least you should avoid a neg.

Anastasie · 19/11/2015 14:19

Plus they pay return postage. You have to refund the outward postage.

Only refund when it arrives and only through paypal so they can see you have done it.

ragged · 19/11/2015 20:54

They may not have to pay return postage, depends on what procedures they have followed, you don't have much choice OP, will have to refund.

Anastasie · 20/11/2015 07:29

What I meant was the OP won't have to pay their return postage. Ebay might, but it isn't down to the OP.
