starting price higher than value of item

An item of mine is about to finish & an ebayer has spotted that my item is the travel version of a popular item (think perfume) and it's about to sell for a lot more than the travel version.

The starting price was higher than the original and has attracted lots of bids. My listing does clearly state the exact size of the item but I am concerned that a buyer will be expecting the full size not the travel version.

I made this mistake in good faith, how do you advise I proceed? Many thanks in advance.

Hmm, as long as the listing is really really clear, I don't think you've done anything to worry about. Is it in the header?

eatmytoes888 · 29/10/2015 18:05

No, it's in the details underneath though. Thank you for answering.

To be honest, it could have been MUCH clearer but I wasn't aware that it was a key issue. Until the other ebayer quite correctly pointed it out.

thru eBay messages, Message the winning bidder before you send, explain why you think things might be confused, apologise, and offer to cancel.

Buyers tend to miss things that aren't blindingly obvious. And even when they are, sometimes!!

The auction is about to end so I have just emailed to offer to cancel. I just hope someone else doesn't jump in at the last minute. I will be ready to email them in case. Thank you for all replying.
