PayPal for gumtree?

Not eBay I know, but would appreciate some advice please! There's an item I want on gumtree, selling for under £20 but haven't been able to find one locally. Seller is willing to post apparently, if I organise and pay for courier. They've sent me their postcode to look at postage costs, and an email address for PayPal.

As long as I make sure it's for goods on PayPal, am I covered here if it never arrives or isn't as described?

Ideally I'd be collecting obviously, but it's 100s of miles away and I've been looking locally for ages without success.

yes, you'll be fine, just make sure when pay-pal asks you what the money is for tick "goods or service" (or something like that), and not a gift / payment to friends or family. this selection makes sure you get buyer protection, should it not arrive or isn't as described.
