Sending items to another address

Ive just sold an item to a buyer with relatively low feedback. They've paid and now emailed me to request that the item be sent to a different address. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't do this due to eBay rules but havent been able to confirm this with ebay yet. Am I right in thinking that the buyer should somehow add the alternative address to their paypal account to give me some seller protection?
Thanks

no - refund them ask them to pay again with a gift address

and send tracked too

It depends. If it's a low value item that you weren't going to send fracked anyway, then it doesn't really make a difference. But if it's a larger item that would be going tracked, then yes, only send it to the address linked to the PayPal payment.

I had this the other week. Expensive item, buyer requested a different address. When I queried I was told it was fine because the address on their ebay account (a mangled version of the requested address) didn't exist. I was pleased to cancel that transaction. The reason I gave was that there was a problem with their address and so I got the fees back.
