Item marked dispatched but not Royal Mail as per listing?

I won a Nintendo Ds last Wesnesday 30th and the listing said it was to be shipped by Royal Mail 1st class to arrive on Friday 2nd of October.

The item wasn't dispatched until Friday which annoyed me. But it said its now not supposed to arrive until Thursday the 8th of October and not only that, it says they have used collect + instead of Royal Mail.
I have emailed the seller saying that I am not happy about this. It's going to arrive almost a full week after it was supposed to.

Is there anything else I can do other than leave neg feedback?

They shipped using a different (slower) carrier without letting me know.

Personally I wouldn't think this warrants negative feedback, but I would leave low stars for dispatch time.

DrGoogleWillSeeYouNow · 05/10/2015 15:34

I'd leave neutral feedback stating the issues with postage.

Has the seller responded to your complaint?

lljkk · 05/10/2015 15:36

Instead of neg f/back you could ask for a small compensation for your inconvenience. I suppose that request would be thinly veiled f/back extortion, which isn't so uncommon. It's already in the system on its slow way to you, so nothing you can do about that part.

Thanks I've never left negative feedback before. I
will see if the item is as described otherwise when it actually arrives before I leave feedback. I will come back when it arrived for advice and when seller replies. Thanks for the advice.

This annoys me too.

I bought an expensive pushchair that was supposed to sent by Parcel Force to arrive in 2 days. The seller used MyHermes and selected the week long delivery. Meaning I paid 3 x what the postage actually cost them! I complained and they said they had to pay for a taxi to go and print the documents. Cheeky F*cker!

ophiotaurus · 05/10/2015 15:55

It hadn't crossed my mind it would be cheaper! Argh :(

Collect plus is actually more expensive than RM first class recorded.

summerwinterton · 06/10/2015 14:17

You may find that RM may not have been enough to insure it for the full value. But I wouldn't be happy if it was sent via a different method to that advertised.

ophiotaurus · 06/10/2015 23:11

I got a reply back saying he sent it collect + as Royal Mail didn't insure over £50? He has apologised and sent me a game for free?
It's more that I wish he had let me know as I've been waiting for it for ages now :(
