Two ebay accounts issues

Due to a recent house clearance I have lots of items to ebay. Like most people I only get 20 free listings per month so I decided to open a second account, which I know is not a problem, so that I can sell as much as possible quickly. I opened a second account using a different email and username, although my personal details like name and address are the same. However, when I logged into it to link to paypal all the details from my main account including all my selling and prurchasing details and feedback could be seen on the new account. It is just a copy of my first account with a different email, username and password.

I am really Confused as I don't understand why or what have I done wrong. Does anyone have more than one account and has had the same problem? How did you get round it? Now i want to cancel the second account but I am afraid it might affect the first one!
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, eBay aren't daft and many factors will link accounts. I'm guessing it's because you used the same PayPal for both accounts?

This is to stop scammers running one account into the ground (so to speak) then opening another and doing the same again.

My advice would be to close the second account, then call eBay and ask the, to increase your selling allowances on the first one.

I've ended up with 3 ebay ID's and they are all linked to just one paypal account.

However. they do all have a different e-mail address for receiving notifications but they are definitely all linked to just one paypal account.

One of the accounts is in my maiden name but all 3 of them have the same residential address in the personal details.

Increasing your selling allowance won't get you more than 20 free listings each month.

What happens when you log into your old account, is it still there with the same feedback as the new account ? Have you not got 20 free listings on each account ? If you list an item on the new one, does it show on the old one too ? Seems weird.

Thank you for your responses. I know ebay will connect both accounts if they connected to the same PayPal. However I did not connect the second account to it yet. It is just when I log in the second account all the details from the first one appear exactly the same except under under a different username. I know ebay allows more than one account per person I just don't understand why the same details can be seen. I also know it is ok to have more than one account per address, DH has his own but connected to a his own PayPal and bank account. I suppose I will have to contact ebay to clarify.

eBay dont allow more than one personal account per person - they do allow multiple business accounts. It is possible to open multiple personal accounts - but if eBay link them, then they can suspend your accounts - perhaps they can also merge them?

eBay dont allow more than one personal account per person

Yes, they do. And no, they won't suspend them.

See here:

pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/multiple-accounts.html

Users may have multiple accounts on eBay. We understand there are various reasons why someone would choose to have more than 1 account

I've got two accounts, I use one for selling and one for buying, the most sensible approach.
