Erratic sales!

So having had two of the best weeks we have ever had at the beginning of the month sales have dwindled to almost nothing this past week. We still have lots of listings, reasonable stuff on with quite a few watchers and no negative feedbacks so why the dramatic downturn? Does paypal block payments for instance when you reach a certain limit or is this totally normal towards the end of the month? Just seems very weird to go from one extreme to the other.

I'm a business seller and I get exactly the same non patterns as you.

I have heard rumours that eBay "throttle" sales, but I have no clue as to whether or not that's true.

beginning of the month sales could be down to pay day though?

A lot of People get paid at the end in the month so have more money to spend during the early part of the month.

Would be strange if ebay throttled sales as they then lose out on commission but am beginning to wonder. Maybe they are cross with me for not taking up their offer of a shop upgrade. Payday I could understand more if I was selling big value items but most are not. I know ebay make a big thing of it but was never sure it was a real phenomenon or not as we don't spend like that. Probably should just be grateful that the first two weeks were good and, after all, I've still got the stuff to sell next month.

I do think payday makes a difference and August is a month when lots of people go away on holiday.

I listed a load of stuff at the end of last month and sold an item or two a day to start with but then it dropped away and is just now coming back quite strongly.
