How to cancel & relist? Buyer used BIN in error and doesn't want the item!

Listed something earlier on and just got an eBay message that it had sold with buy it now, but then the supposed buyer messaged me that they had meant to watch it not buy it and could I cancel the transaction.

I have no idea how to do that, I can relist it but then I think I'd have to pay two lots of fees.

Does anyone know the correct thing to do in this situation please?

Thanks!

Go to Ebay resolution centre (can google that link), find your listing, and say that you & buyer agreed to cancel. This sends a refund without penalising you.

Don't relist until you have confirmation from Ebay that the first transaction has been cancelled. You shouldn't be charged any fees for all this.

There are ways this can go wrong but should be trouble-free if it's what buyer wants.

That's great, thanks so much for the reply, I went to the resolution centre and it seemed to work.

Seems like the buyer now has up to 10 days to confirm cancellation which seems a bit unfair on the vendor but hopefully my buyer will confirm sooner than that, fingers crossed!

Thanks again.

Lots on Ebay is unfair on vendor, but hopefully this will go smoothly.
