Can someone please explain ebay/paypal fees to me?

I have tried googling this but I always get so confused!

My understanding is:

Ebay take 10% of the final sale price including postage
Paypal take 10% of the total money received

Is this right?

no - paypal take 3.4% + 20p at source.

So together that's 13.4% of the selling price (including the P&P amount) plus 20p.

In addition, depending on how you do your listing, you might also be charged a listing fee by ebay. But it's generally not difficult for small time sellers to avoid most or all listing fees.

Thanks very much! 13.4% is quite a lot really isn't it? But it seems to be the best way to sell. I've tried local facebook selling sites and I've always been let down on them!
