HELP!! 30 minutes left on auction.....SHALL I BID ON THIS???

I gave/lent a baby gym teh same as this to my friend. I wasn't ever expecting to ned one again so said to her once she and her sister have finished with I'll have it back to sell/give away/whatever.
I wasn't really bothered about having it back and made that clear to her.

NOw, obviously we need another one. DS3 LOVED this one and teh music thing on it was a great sleep inducer for him.

She's lost all teh toys off the one agave her and has said she'll buy a new one for us. I feel bad about that, especially at it was ?45 new and I'd ideally like the same one (or a musically one at least).

Shall I bid on this one and tell her not to worry about getting anew one, or would that be a rude because she said she'd get it for us as a new baby pressie.

If I;m honest if the tables were turned I;d feel abit insulted if I said I get a new one.....Ohhh what shall I do??

I'd bid on it - she won't be offended will she, and she can always get you something else!

Fattymumma · 12/11/2006 11:44

bid on this one and tell her that she can get you something else ie cheaper when the baby arrives.

you get the item you want, she can return the favour but you wont feel guilty about the price (though was a bit naughty of her to loose the bits)

SherlockLGJ · 12/11/2006 11:44

I would be most upset if you went and bought one.TBH

LadyTophamHatt · 12/11/2006 11:44

yes....this might help I suppose!!

Quootiepie · 12/11/2006 11:44

yep, bid id say...

Tutter · 12/11/2006 11:45

you can either accept her offer

or - if you think you'd prefer a top-of-the-range one and suspect that's not what you'll get from her - you could tell a little white lie and say your mother/mil/whoever has told you they'#ve bought one for the new baby?

Tutter · 12/11/2006 11:46

that is a great one - one of my friends has it

you can still say your mother/mil has bought it for you (but get it yourslef)

softens the blow

LadyTophamHatt · 12/11/2006 11:53

ahhhhh, I'd feel teh same sherlock but I'm 99% sure she won't be able to afford the same one brand new.

god that sounds awful....

In that case you are absolved my child.

SherlockLGJ · 12/11/2006 11:55

Just a thought.......

You could put one in the house and one in the conservatory.

LadyTophamHatt · 12/11/2006 11:56

conservatory??

what?? incase i want to deep freeze the baby???

Ah...well...out bid on it anyway.

My usualy successful plan of bidding in the last minute failed this time. I ran out of time to enter another higher bid.

i have one but its currently with my friend who's baby is ~3 months old, i would happily sell it to you but don't think she will be finished with before you need it.

LadyTophamHatt · 12/11/2006 21:22
