Courier firms??

Okay, this isn't strictly Ebay, but I have two big boxes here for my part-time job which I need to get to Newcastle as cheaply as possible (don't mind them taking up to a week). Has anyone sold big stuff on Ebay and used a courier firm? I seem to remember someone posting that they had sold a buggy and used a firm which charged a fixed price?

Thanks for any advice!!

Have you looked on www.parcel2go.com?
I had issues with parcelforce and now use parcels2go for big stuff

I used a company called parcel city, was an excellent service from start til end.
And they weren't that expensive either

I have always used Parcelforce you get a discount if you book on line, if you book before about 1 they come out the same day to collect and the 48 hours service is cheaper than almost everyone else for bulky items. I have used it to send buggies, a pram, a children's tab;e and chairs...all sorts and they have always delivered on time. I found Parcels2go charge silly money if the item is bulky, also they use DHL and although this isn't the best PR having worked for them for 6 years I wouldn't use them.

Try Payperdrop . £5.99 for anything up to 31kg which fits in 100cm x 60cm x 60cm, and that's 24hr delivery collected from your address. They use DHL and offer full online-tracking.

They are a paypal shop: worked very well for us recently when sending a heavy play table.

I agree with MrLSG I have used payperdrop_uk for quite a few things and have had no problems so far you cant go wrong with £5.99 next day delivery

Oh fantastic - thanks guys!

In the end because I needed to get it sorted fast, I used Interparcel who charged £17 for 40kgs and their customer service was great. I will save up all these other recommendations for another time though, as some sound even cheaper!
