If you are home anyway then I would give her the final chance to collect then but don't take PayPal - cash only for collection as otherwise the buyer can request refund via eBay/PayPal and because they collected in person you have no delivery proof to show that they do have your item.

gamerchick · 11/05/2015 08:08

No to paying by PayPal.

Personally I wouldn't give her another chance but if you do make it the last one.

Cash only though.

gamerchick · 11/05/2015 08:09

Plus if she pays now then she might just take her sweet time to collect it.

Cherryapple1 · 11/05/2015 08:11

Just file an unpaid case and then when you close it 4 days later you can then relist. And block the buyer too. And never take paypal for collected items, cash only.

MESSING2 · 11/05/2015 08:26

Thanks for the replies. I think I am just going to continue with the unpaid item case.

Do you think I should reply to her latest message saying 'no thanks', or just ignore?

I just have this sinking feeling she will turn up anyway at 3 and/or make a PayPal payment even if she doesn't hear from me.

well if she pays by paypal you just refund it.

And no, I wouldn't reply to her. Just file the case and close ASAP.

BaronessEllaSaturday · 11/05/2015 08:57

If she pays by paypal that will close the unpaid item case as resolved.

Cherryapple1 · 11/05/2015 09:03

and then you will need to ask eBay to return your fees manually.

update: in a fit of generosity/madness, I replied that I'd be in at 3 for them to collect today, but this was the last chance and I needed to go out at 4. I also stipulated it had to be cash on collection.

Nothing at 3pm...left the house at 4 and not long after received a message 'can you leave the item outside in a bag before you go out, my husband is just dropping my mother in law off at the station then will come to you, I will make a PayPal payment now'

I have not replied to this, and there is no sign of any PayPal payment.

I've now gone from being Angry to being Grin about the whole thing, and wondering wtf they're playing at.

Will close the unpaid item case in a few days, and block this weirdo from bidding on anything else. slightly concerned that they have my address.

How odd. Do you think she hoped you would leave it out, then collect it, then claim that she hadn't collected it after all and someone else must have taken it?

Has she made further contact??

MESSING2 · 11/05/2015 21:35

greeneggs it is beyond weird. No further contact at all.

it's a low value item, hardly worth messing about over.

Ah well, there's nowt as queer as folk Smile

Seems she was after a freebie. People certainly are strange. I think I would be leaving warning feedback for others if you are allowed to do so.

Cherryapple1 · 11/05/2015 22:46

a seller can't neg, nor can they leave a negative statement for a buyer. But an unpaid case will issue them with a strike, so you always need to file one. Plus you want your fvf refunded.

quietasamouse · 15/05/2015 18:15

I think she just sounds incredibly disorganised. Would ignore her from now on though.
