Arg! I've lost the item and someone just bought it! How do I refund and sort it?

Maybe it's because I use the iPhone app but I can find any info on how you refund a buyer if something has gone wrong. I've turned over my room but can't find the item! Advice welcome!

You come clean. Log into paypal so you can see their transaction. Then in a separate window go to resolution centre and say you want to cancel the sale. With the cancellation request explain the item has gone missing, you're dreadfully sorry.

Send cancel request.
Immediately refund them on paypal.
Send them another apologetic email or Ebay message about the lost item. Grovel for all your worth.

X your fingers and hope they believe you & don't trash your f/back to be spiteful.

Did you find it? If it is clothing look on a hanger under another garment. I did this with a small waistcoat and was looking for it for ages - got quite in a panic but found it.

After doing the same a couple of times (but finding in the end) I now keep everything in 2 x stacking boxes and they are kept under threat to family never to touch anything in them.

Nope sure it's gone!! Thing is is auto relisted (which I know if my fault for not clicking the button) so it was out of the do not touch it's on eBay box and in the pile of crap no one wants!!
