Item ended 7.45pm on Thursday, still not paid. When and how do I nudge them?

I think I'd message them tomorrow to remind them. Some people do it after 24 hours, so you're not being pushy waiting this long.

Thank you. And how long before cancelling the sale if there's no response? I think I read 5 days somewhere.

I usually leave 3-4 days before reminding them, and then send them another message a week later. Fortunately, I've never had anyone not pay.

Rivercam · 18/04/2015 18:57

Sorry, that's a week after original sale date, not a week after sending a message.

Thank you. I sell a dozen or so items a year and this is the first time it's happened to me. I guess it's no big deal, I can just re-list if they don't sell.

E-bay do send a reminder to the buyer after 2 days anyway but a polite message wouldn't do any harm some people just genuinely forget thats why I pay instantly.
Open a case after 4 days and let e-bay deal with it if you get no response then wait for case to close before relisting you will then get your fee's refunded.
Also make sure if the buyer pays you send it tracked as some buyers will claim item not received once e-bay has been involved.best of luck x

Hi. Open an unpaid item dispute. this gives them a further 4 days to pay. if no payment is made within the 4 days, eBay will refund you final value fees and you can relist. avoid the temptation of relishing too soon as I did this and the original seller paid after I sold it to another buyer! Ended up with negative feedback from original buyer so hard lesson learnt.

relisting not relishing!

Cherryapple1 · 19/04/2015 15:16

48 hours - no exceptions. No point messaging and badgering. If they aren't going to pay you need to know asap as you can't relist until the case is closed.

Thank you all, I was going to send a polite reminder this afternoon but they paid at 1pm so past the 48 hour but I won't post until tomorrow anyway.

Couple of days then couple of days later I open a case.

I was wondering about when was acceptable to remind someone to pay, so thanks for this OP!

Really annoys me when the winning bidder bids at the last minute and doesn't pay for a week Hmm
