Buyer not responding? Or am I doing something wrong?

First time Ebayer. I listed an item for sale last week, had a few bids and the highest one met the reserve so it's now listed as 'sold'. During the bidding I received loads of enquiries about it and replied to all messages, had conversations back and forth etc. The person who won the item wasn't one of the bidders who messaged me.

Once the listing had ended, I had a message from Ebay to say that the buyer had been invoiced. I then invoiced the buyer, reiterating that the item was collection only and it would be cash on collection only (this was stated on the listing). I haven't heard back from the buyer, so I messaged again to ask if they coulld clarify whether they wanted the item. If not then I would like to realist. They haven't messaged me back.

Is it that the messages are in a different place to where I am looking? I've checked my emails and my Ebay messages but there is nothing from this person. I know that they are local as their address is visible on the 'sold' information.

Have I missed the message or has this person just changed their mind? It seems weird that someone would bid on an item and then just have no contact - or is this just a really common issue? What do I do about it? The listing ended on Saturday and this item is cluttering up my hall (and losing it's value).

TIA :)

sounds like they've changed their mind. open an uppaid item case, wait until ebay close it, and refund your final value fees, then relist, or offer it to the second highest bidder (second chance offer).

Thank you :). I've opened a case today so hopefully I can relist in a few days. I'm a novice at this, I thought it was so straight forward especially listing as collection only. Hopefully it'll sell, I've already mentally spent the money on a different version of what I'm selling!

you have to close the case in 4 days. Only then can you relist.
