Help somone!!
I need to find out how why ...

2 of my items, when sold and buyer has paid over paypal, the payment is listed as 'pending'. Why is it then that other items I've sold at the same time does not have that and goes straight into my paypal account?? What can I do?

Also, can someone tell me how to remove 'your item is available for second chance listing'. I definitely don't remember selecting that option and I don't want to get into trouble with my potential buyers.

Many thanks in advance!!

they have sent an echeque, if you click on details, then it will give you a clearence date.

the second chance thing is just in case your first buyer pulls out and doesnt pay up. you can then offer it to the next highest bidder. just dont do a thing, uit wont annoy your buyers.

it could be that your buyer is waiting for the funds to clear through their account before it gets to yours - give it a couple of days and it should be fine.

Where do you see the 2nd chance listing option? I used it once when an arsey buyer from the US didn't pay but other people had bid for the item - I offrered it to the next highest bidder.

Once you have left feedback after the transaction just delete the item from My Ebay!

Oh thanks! Does that mean that I don't have to do anything and wait for cheque to clear?
I checked the 'help section' of paypal and it says something like I have to upgrade my account (at a certain % rate) in order to accept payment. But I'm reluctant to do so as I'm not a business ebayer and I'm just listing several items from a wardrobe clearout. Do you reckon I have to upgrade my account to accept buyers' payment?

oh you might have to upgrade. have you reached your limit?

SoupDragon · 01/11/2006 19:46

I think they may have paid by credit card via Pay Pal and if you only have the bog standard account, you can't accept the credit card payment you have to upgrade. It doesn't cost anything to upgrade per se but you get charged fees on every transaction.

Lucycat - I saw it in the listing under 'my ebay' account. It's in the boxes that let you click several options like 'mark as dispatched, leave feedback, etc'. It says something like '4 items you sold are eligible for second chance offers'. If it doens't get me into trouble (I didn't want buyers to think I have more than one item to sell), then I'll leave it as it is. Thanks!

Do you reckon that I have to upgrade then? You're right, I have the bog standard account which again, I'm happy with as I don't usuallu list several items at one go. One this instance. But if you all think that's the only option, then I'll go ahead with it.
Thanks!

ahhh it's just to reassure you that if some toerag doesn't pay, then someone else wanted to buy your stuff!

SoupDragon · 01/11/2006 20:14

I think you will have to upgrade if you want to accept PayPal as a lot of buyers do use it to pay via credit card and expect to be able to do this. I had to do this to get the "pending" payments through on my account.

greenday · 01/11/2006 20:17

Ah! I was hoping I could avoid it. I've not had this problem at all in the past. This is the first time I've listed several items at a go. Thank you all for your advice. You've all been most helpful!
