I bought a photo frame off ebay nothing stated it had marks on it. When I got the item I noticed some scratches on it, I went back on the listing in case it was done in the post and if I zoom in on it I can see the scratches there. Sent the seller a message asking for refund due to this at first she said it wasn't there when she packaged it up so I sent her another message saying that if you zoom in then you can it. She chose to ignore this have just sent her a request to return and she's now replied saying she doesn't accept returns. I've told her as it is faulty she will need to do so. On this she will only offer a part refund but I want to return and all my money back. What do I do now?

raise a case on ebay

don't say that the scratches were obvious on the listing, but that now you know where to look, and zoom in, you can see them.

You MUST MUST MUST return it "signed for delivery" and tracked.

go to your order,

"ask a question"

"I need to return my item"

then look for "Request a return.

You can open a request to work things out with your seller. Most sellers want their buyers to be satisfied and will work with you."

And click on "request"

Do I have to pay for return postage? As that is nearly as much as I paid for the item and postage.

you can write in the dispute that you don't want to pay for the return. If you send Hermes it will cost £2.98. How much was the item?

ilovemydoggy · 28/03/2015 18:11

I won the item for £1.64 and £2.80 postage. £4.44 all together. Can I drop the item to Hermes for them to deliver?

yes 0 it will cost £2.78. But if you write in the case it is too pricey to return eBay may give a no fault refund without the need for a return. You need to escalate it and then wait for their decision.

If you're returning it because it's faulty (not as described) then you don't pay any postage. Open a not-as-described case with Ebay & go thru procedures, you will get a prepaid postage from Ebay to return.

Thank you everyone.

you don't always get a free prepaid label. Are they a private or business seller?

ilovemydoggy · 28/03/2015 23:30

Hi they are a private seller. She did agree to refund me and to keep the item aswell but as of yet no refund and can't escalate to ebay till after 8 days. Bloody annoying.
