Was this item incorrectly listed?

I bought an item of clothing for my 8 year old dd, listed as 'aged 8 approx'.

Arrived this morning and has is labelled size 'S' and is huge - it fits me as an adult in my 40s, so I'm guessing a adult size small?

I didn't ask for detailed measurements, as something actually 'approx age 8' would be suitable for my dd to grow in to.

Can I legitimately argue that the item was incorrectly listed?

if it does not say age 8 anywhere on it then yes I would say it is incorrectly listed. Maybe it fitted their (larger) 8 year old but that doesn't make it an age 8 item.

Presumably it's adult female size 8 not age 8.

You'll get your money back no matter what you say about it.
Waste of time to buy any clothing mail order without very specific measurements on hem drop, inside arm or leg length, etc.

ragged, I've bought tons of stuff on e-bay without asking exact measurements and going just by the sizes listed and never had a problem before.
