when will ebay sort out feedback?

Really fed up of the lazy attitude of some ebayers who decide not to rate. I have 100% positive ratings and have good if not great feedback when it does arrive, BUT about 50% of buyers do not rate, and it is bugging me.

Wrote to ebay about it a while ago and they thanked me for the input, but since then nothing has changed.

Is anyone else annoyed by this or have you found a polite & consistent way of getting people to rate without personally contacting them?

it is voluntary - buyers don't need to leave you any and if you ask for it you risk a neg. Why is it so important to you. eBay won't change it to make it compulsory - why should they? You really expected them to change their policy because you told them to??

no news is good news in my book. Don't sweat it, there are way worse things that can happen with ebay than that.

No feedback is good feedback imo and it doesn't impact on your rating in anyway as you will after 60days (I think) get positive rating against any sales so no problem at all,not everyone has the time to remember to score some people only do it when they have nothing else to do,they may be at work all day/have busy lives etc.Last thing on their mind would be feedback if they are happy with their purchase,you would soon get feedback if item was INR or SNAD.

I hate being constantly chased to give feedback. I'm sorry but unless you actually made the entire item from scratch I don't see what I could possibly write about it other than I ordered it and you sent it.

I really dislike the constant need for people to be rated/given stars for doing something I would expect them to do anyway. If I had a problem I would tell you otherwise everything's fine and you shouldn't feel the need to be given constant feedback praising your ability to describe an item and post it.

Feedback definitely belongs in room 101 as far as im concerned.

I like feedback and I make an effort to leave it myself. OOH like another poster said 'no news is good news' and I'm sure if there was a problem they would let you know.

Since no F/back = good f/back by default, I don't think that matters. Real f/back only matters if it's negative.

It is, and should remain a courtesy not a right. Its subjective at best unfair at worst all the while sellers are unable to neg, or leave honest criticism about dishonest or troublesome buyers and transactions.

I mainly sell on Ebay and will not leave any feedback until I've received positive feedback from the buyer in confirmation that the sale went smoothly. I do it in bulk every couple of months. If I don't receive any feedback, that's absolutely fine, as I wouldn't expect anyone to do so if I don't want to either, I simply return the courtesy for those who do.

I buy on eBay but often forget to give feedback and then do a whole bunch at once. If someone emails me about feedback I will specifically not give it (unless they were truly outstanding) as it's annoying.

Lazy? It is not a moral issue surely?

FWIW I often do leave feedback but tend not to if I haven't been very impressed by an item but not annoyed enough to demand a refund (in which case I wouldn't leave negative feedback anyway if my issue was resolved). Maybe you should be grateful they haven't left any?
