Selling large item. Lots if people watching. Some one has contacted me to offer cash below the reserve saying that I would save fees etc. I am not accepting but in a dilema whether to report?

why are you in a dilemma? And you shouldn't take paypal anyway - cash only btw.

Makes me very uncomfortable and don't want a load of abuse off someone !

So they want you to end the auction early and sell it to them off eBay.

I'd say no (or just ignore) but only report if they become abusive.

They are just trying it on at the moment. I don't think it's uncommon.

If it's a collection item, you are better to take cash as a buyer could pay by paypal, collect the item and then claim 'not received' and paypal would refund them as you have no proof that they collected it.

But you can request cash from whoever wins the auction.

Yes and thanks! I have never had it happen before but don't sell that often and yes I normally just ask for cash on collection. I had no idea that PayPal would do that !!!
