Item has not arrived -should the seller sort it?

I've bought an item off a seller on ebay (company rather than individual),and they have posted it.
However,it has not been delivered, and no card has been left.
Is it up to them to sort this out,or down to me?

It's up to them but I usually nip down to the local sorting office in case they forgot to leave a card and get them to check before I contact the seller

Its kind of complicated I suppose,in that its a (bare rooted) tree.I didn't know delivery was supposedly attempted,so its been sitting in a holding office for nearly two weeks.
I'm not sure it'll still be viable tbh.
So,while I have now located it,I'm not sure its going to be fit for purpose.

Then I think it's up to the seller to claim it back off the postal service for not leaving a note? Or maybe it's you. It's definitely one of you...

I'm not being much help. Sorry.

I think it's them. If you paid by paypal you should be covered

all you need to do is file not received and eBay will refund. It is not your job to claim or chase up anything. Seller has the contract with RM. And it is their job to ensure you receive the item, not yours.

The seller did send the item in good faith though and 2 weeks seems a long time to leave it before checking on the delivery. I assume it was not sent signed for or tracked? If it is a company then best to contact them explain the situation and they will most likely re send one. I don't think OP should open a case without contacting seller first.

Thanks everyone.
The seller has resolved the situation now thankfully!
