Anyone fancy joining me?

I am in the middle of de cluttering misery and making a bit of cash out it might ease the trauma Grin

As it's free listing at the moment, I am taking advantage and getting a few things on there.

I have at least two big bags of things that have been pushed into a cupboard to be ebayed one day Hmm. Going to try and make a start on them this evening/tomorrow.

My target is £300 by Feb half term.

I was away for most of last week so didn't list anything then, nor the week before that. I got a Free Listing invite for last weekend, so did 11 relists when I got home on Sunday. I want to sort out a lot of stuff over the next few months and try and get rid of as much as I can between now and the beginning of July. My total for the year is currently sitting at £84.56.

glammanana · 24/03/2015 10:50

Just popping in to see how everyone is doing,I have surprised myself this month and done some really profitable sales due to my brother loosing loads of weight and selling all his designer XL shirts (didn't know they where so popular) all sold as BIN and gone as soon as posted so I have gone halves with him on the profit (clever girl)
I've had quite a few free listings for 100 items but can't use all of them which is a pity,I'm finding it busier in the week than the week-end for some strange reason, like yesterday I sold 2 x Autograph Weekend cardigans that I had listed for about 4 months then both go at the same time strange ??.
Hoping everyone is keeping their £s in pay-pal (I had a little spend) Hmm

PurpleFrog · 24/03/2015 18:31

I have sold two lots in the past couple of days - my first in March. I posted one lot after work today, and am still waiting for the other buyer to pay. It was a BIN and we offered and counter-offered a few times, so after all that effort I hope he doesn't back out! I got 5 new lots listed on Sunday and hope to do more this week. For once I actually remembered about the clocks changing next weekend so changed my start times to compensate.

PurpleFrog · 30/03/2015 12:27

The buyer that I was waiting for to pay still hadn't by Friday, so I opened a case and she paid on Saturday. I sold 3 more things yesterday, so need to go to the post Office at lunchtime today. Smile

I've mainly listed on free listing days this month, so still have quite a few left from my 20 free March listings to use. I'm free tomorrow evening so I'll try to get some more on then.

The school Easter holidays start here on Friday. I think I'll try and get some things on Facebook and Gumtree for local pickup.

PurpleFrog · 12/04/2015 12:19

glammanana - have you had any FLWs recently? I was so sure there would be one for me this weekend. Last one was 22-24 March! Sad

glammanana · 12/04/2015 15:46

Hi-ya Purple No I've not had any since before Easter it ran from a Sun-Tuesday but nothing since I expected one this week-end too as I have stuff to relist for 5 days before my hols for a week at the end of this month I want to leave my selling page empty and make sure any posting has been received I don't want to come back to the world and his moaning wife if something has not been received lol.
This last month made £94.00 for the wedding pot so I am on target I think if things go well. Best of luck sweetie.

robin64 · 12/04/2015 16:56

purple there was a flw last wkend I think so you should get next one if you missed one

Greymalkin · 12/04/2015 18:57

Hello everyone, can I join?

I'm also on one of the good house keeping threads and I'm on a mission to get rid of all the rubbish and random stuff in our house that we really don't need, or haven't touched in ages.

I always used to use DHs ebay account as I was a bit bewildered about setting up my own. However, I pulled myself together and set up my own ebay and PayPal account at the end of February. I've made £435 in completed sales since then and have another £60 so far on things that are finishing tonight. Feeling so so pleased!

I'm saving up for tuition fees (£4000 to be paid over the next two and a.half years).

Be back later!!

Dumbledoresgirl · 13/04/2015 12:50

That's amazing Greymalkin - well done!

I had a FLW the Easter weekend but only used it to relist a few things that had recently ended.

My sales are in the complete doldrums at the moment. I made a couple of sales on Friday but they were the first for 3 weeks and that is despite me adding some seasonal things lately. Until last Friday, I was planning on taking a break from ebay until September.

I made £202 between New Year and end of March so I haven't done badly overall.

PurpleFrog · 13/04/2015 13:24

Hi glamma - glad you haven't had any recent FLW invites either. We still seem to be in the same "group" for offers! I know what you mean about wanting to leave a gap before going away - it does break the momentum somewhat, though. I had that problem when I was away for the first week in March.

Greymalkin · 13/04/2015 18:23

Had another good week ending yesterday night making £90 before any fees. Now I need to have another sweep through the house for more clutter to list.

I'm thinking of getting loads of listings ready to go and just keeping anything over my 20 free listings saved in drafts, in case I get a free listing weekend (FLW?) so I can then get loads of stuff out quickly.

I really wish buyers would leave feedback - loads of mine haven't, and as a new seller, I would really appreciate it.

PurpleFrog · 13/04/2015 19:44

Greymalkin - that's a good plan! It is the one I always aspire to, but never quite manage! At least now after the clocks changing I can take photos in daylight after I get home in the evenings. That is often the bottleneck in my listings production line.

It's annoying when buyers don't leave feedback, but don't chase it or it will just annoy people.

Greymalkin · 13/04/2015 20:44

Hi Purple - Arf at the 'production line' - love it.

Yes, I don't chase people for feedback, but will occasionally leave my feedback first in the hope it prompts people to do feedback for me. I've found that if I message the buyers to say thanks for quick payment and when I'll be posting, I tend to get good feedback saying I'm a good communicator and they'd happily buy from me again.

PurpleFrog · 14/04/2015 10:56

Hmm - 'production line' probably gives the impression that I am churning out dozens of listings. In reality I am painfully slow because I like to be very accurate with my descriptions, especially of the condition, and I always end up doing lots of research online before listing. In fact I rarely have more that 20 items listed at any one time! Grin

Greymalkin · 14/04/2015 16:17

That still sounds like a lot though Purple, I tend to stick to my 20 free listings for the whole month.

I got one of the Olympic 50p coins in my change the other day; it's the triathalon one which is one of the rarer ones. They sell on eBay for anything between £4 and £7! So, I've listed it and it's selling for over a pound already with five days to go

glammanana · 16/04/2015 17:57

Gosh Grey you will have everyone checking their change now and we will all be listing trying to "Double our Money" yeh !! Grin

glammanana · 18/04/2015 10:38

Well Purple no FLW this week again but not too worried as I am running down prior to holiday,I'm only going for 6 nights but want to make sure all parcels arrive before I go,I couldn't stand the pain of messing about when I came back after what is supposed to be a relaxing break.Hope you get your free listings back this week.

PurpleFrog · 18/04/2015 12:57

I 'm still hoping I'll get a Sunday until Tuesday one this weekend! I will photograph some new stuff anyway and do some draft or scheduled listings. I still have some of my 20 to use up, so will use some of those if I don't get any more. I won't do any relists, though, until I get a FLW.

glammanana · 19/04/2015 10:06

I've had the Sunday-Tuesday offer this morning so am taking the opportunity of relisting stuff for 3 days only so it fits in with holiday dates, its be quiet for me this week done about £35.00 only but better than nothing just little stuff sold, will make an effort when I come back.My DDs friend is outselling herself this week her hubby lost loads of weight and she put all his shirts on line to sell (so he wouldn't be tempted to creep up in weight again) and she sold the lot, about 40 odd shirts so there are plenty of customers out there just finding them lol.

PurpleFrog · 19/04/2015 10:15

I have the Sunday to Tuesday one too! I have some new stuff to put on, and some things that have been relisted many times which will be getting their last chance at rock bottom prices before chucking. (These are mainly comics and magazines which are no good for charity shops etc..)

Greymalkin · 20/04/2015 18:04

Nice bit of cash there Glamma, it all helps.

Purple, I've also had a load of stuff that hasn't sold after two lots of listing. I don't want to chuck though as I know it is worth something, even just a little.

On the plus side, I sold my Olympic 50p for £6! Crazy...

chocolateyay · 24/04/2015 15:47

I am about to start this.

Target: £200
Deadline: end of June
Purpose: pay for mad birthday party

glammanana · 25/04/2015 10:30

Well girls my listing is empty now until I come back from my jolly's and during the month (20th-20th) I have made £156,90 after fee's so am quite pleased with that,I've got loads to relist and some I relisted on last FLW sold on 3 day BIN two of the jackets I had first listed last Summer so there is always a buyer for every item somewhere girls so don't give up.
I'm only away for a week but I hope you all get mega sales x glamma x

Greymalkin · 30/04/2015 14:05

Hello everyone - I dropped off the thread oops

Hello chocolate - your target sounds very do-able, good luck with it.

My eBay activity has gone very very quiet after such an incredible start. I need to have another hunt around the house for more things that I really do not need. I've been trying to sell costume jewellery piece by piece, which worked well initially, but I think I might do better by selling it as a job lot?

PurpleFrog · 30/04/2015 15:03

Just checking in. Last week didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. My free listings offer ended on the Tuesday, so I got home from work on the Tuesday evening ready to get listing, only to discover that our BT broadband was down. Sad I phoned the free number to check and there were problems with BT Infinity in our dialling code area. It wasn't back until the following morning. On the plus side I have sold about 5 items since then. I have 7 or 8 free listings from the April batch still to use - I hope to get them used up tonight!

Greymalkin - things were quite quiet at the beginning of April but seem to have picked up again. Maybe you should give your jewellery one more try before going for a job lot?

glammanana - I hope you enjoy your holiday. You have done really well with the past month's total!
