Question about branded clothes listings, private seller

I am in the middle of a wardrobe clearout and I thought I'd stick everything on eBay.

During some vague googling I found out that during 2012 at least, eBay brought in a rule about private sellers only being able to list 3 branded clothing items within a 30 day period. Is that still the case? It sounds like such a crazy rule!

Hi there,no doubt someone with more information than me will come along with some help for you but I think if you are new to selling ebay limit you to a certain amount of items until you have a certain amount of feedback from customers also to a certain amount of £s that you can earn in a month (I may be wrong) I think it is to build up your credability as a seller, when I first started I could only sell £200.00 per month or 10 items which ever came first things may have changed.Best of Luck x glamma.

Hi, I think it is only certain items, designer clothing and some high end ones, it is unclear how they define the high end items as there was talk on the Ebay forums that some of them are just High St. brands which have been restricted, but it could have changed since then.

You will get a message telling you that you have reached your limit so if I were you I would list the ones you really want to sell first, and continue until they stop you, or try different brands if you get the message.

I sell all kinds of clothing on there and have never had a problem, the only thing that annoys me is that designer names get held back for checking before they go live.
