I think eBay need a public service message of some kind when people choose "New" as the condition of their item.
Maybe some sort of questionnaire would help people understand what new means - "has it been worn?", "has it been washed", "seriously, has it been worn, even once?", "would the shop take it back if you returned it?" etc...
Why do people do this? Good or even excellent used condition is NOT new!
