Best way to send a dress to US from UK

I have agreed to post a dress to the US and would like to know the best and cheapest way to do this. Will proof of postage via Royal Mail cover me or do I need to get item tracked? Thanks

I suspect proof of postage would not be applicable for items going abroad. Even if it did apply it would be a very little use to you. If no one on here has the answer you should have a search online or ask at a Post Office.

Either it's a low price item that you're happy to lose together with any ebay payment or it's worth spending around £20 to send it tracked and signed for. Have a look at this online tool:
