Problem with seller

I bid and won a pair of suede boots listed as brand new. Paid as soon as auction ended. Delivery was meant for 15/16 October - eventually arrived 21/10

Boots were not as described - scuffed heels, bobbled suede, paint marks on sole, frayed stitching etc. contacted seller and initiated returns procedure.

Seller has got arsey - sending snarky emails. Claimed to be away which was why boots were late being sent. now claiming to be away for 4 weeks as I have returned the boots.

eBay help us useless - I initiated the return on 23/10 and according to listing/buyers terms have until 12/11 to return goods. I can't work out if I have to wait until 31/10 to escalate to ebay. Seller is stating they will be away so parcel will. E returned.

Anyone wise in the ways of ebay and can advise how to handle this. Thanks

I think you need to contact ebay CS - try the call back phone call. Difficult seller - don't forget to leave appropriate fb and very low stars (3 or lower will give a defect.

Thanks Nick - will try the phone number - couldn't see any other way of contacting Ebay even though help kept mentioning live chat I couldn't find how to access that.

Not really used Ebay much but all other transactions have been so good and now I find myself stuck in a disagreement with an awkward sod.

Can I leave feedback whilst I'm in a dispute with the seller? I haven't yet as was giving them a chance to put things right - to paraphrase another topic "am I being too reasonable?" Grin

yes you can neg and low stars now, please do, - but don't mention a dispute in it. And if the seller is away you will have proof of an attempted delivery which is all that is required for you to receive a refund.

BellBookandCandle · 28/10/2014 09:04

Thanks Chrissy will do

Have you opened a case
You will get a returns label and its all very simple

BellBookandCandle · 28/10/2014 10:57

I have initiated the returns process and printed a label - advised seller yesterday that I had taken parcel to click and collect for return. Then got a snarky email, saying they were away for 4 weeks so hard luck the parcel would be returned and they would leave ebay to sort it out.

The seller is a right charmer

seller sounds horrid don't they - ah well, they can refuse the return and it will be sent back to you and they will still have to refund you.

nickstmoritz · 28/10/2014 13:29

Unlucky. What a miserable git! Deserve a neg and 1 stars & I rarely advise that. As long as you have sent back in a reliable method then I think you will get the refund. If seller can't be bothered to accept parcel that is their problem. You could probably report the seller as being rude and unhelpful.

BellBookandCandle · 28/10/2014 14:48

Have spoken to ebay - they will contact seller :-)

Have checked tracking and it seems the parcel was delivered at 11:59 this morning - will wait and see what happens now.

Am so disappointed - all other sellers have been great - no problems at all.

Thanks for all your help and advice
