Returns, buyer claims not as described

I sold an item and had put in the description 'slightly discoloured'. Buyer has come back requesting return as it is heavily discoloured which they say was not mentioned in the description or shown in the photos. I'm not very happy but am wondering do I return full cost (bid cost plus postage plus the return postage), so more than was actually paid? How is best to proceed with this as I know these things never go to the sellers way. Never had this before.

What is the item? Eg does discolouring matter?

They sometimes do go the sellers way.

Did you show the photos of discolouration?

If so ask them to send you pictures of the discolouration so that you can compare them to the ones you have.

Just ask them to return for full refund, eBay would ask buyer to pay return postage definitely accept return as eBay will make you anyway but by doing it first and quickly you bare less likely to end up with negative feedback. Whether discolouration is slight or not is subjective. So cut your losses and ask for return for refund be polite unless you have made a mistake with degree of discolouration no need to pay return postage.

It was a toy. The buyers name indicates he then sells them on so i guess he is looking for mint although his idea and my idea of discolouring are obviously not the same. Will take advice and just accept return. I had a bad feeling about it as he was very late to pay and I'd had to email him, am now expecting my 100% rating to now go, not happy. Thanks everyone.
