Just sold an item to someone who lives in the next village!

Would it be the done thing to offer to deliver (often pass that way) and refund the postage, or could I be causing myself problems?

I wouldn't refund all the postage cost though maybe just a portion so that your fuel is covered.

well if they collect or you deliver you shouldn't take paypal, cash only.

No, ask them if they want to collect! If they do, just take cash!! No paypal.
