How long to you give a buyer to pay?

Sold and item on Saturday morning, it's now Tuesday evening and I have had no contact from the buyer and no payment. I've sold lots on eBay over the years and am more than happy to wait for payment if someone contacts me to let me know what's going on. I sent an invoice this morning but still nada. Not sure how long I should give before opening up an unpaid item dispute.

48 hours then open an unpaid case. This gives them another 4 days to pay. So get it opened now.

If I don't receive anything after three days, then I will send a message. I usually will then wait a couple more days.

Also, if the auction finishes on Friday or Saturday, then I would probably wait until Monday or Tuesday, in case they are away.

In you situation, I would wait 48 hours after your message. They could still be at work and not seen your message yet if you sent it this morning.

I'm in the same boat. Sunday and sent invoice Tuesday. local PO is closed and I'm not driving so they have missed me being able to post today.Confused

This is the second time this has happened to me. It makes me so cross. And the buyer gets no negative feedback or anything. So how I meant to know if they are a good seller or not when they have 100% positive feedback but can't be bothered to pay for my item.
Sorry I'm ranty!

you have to file an unpaid case against them - that way they get unpaid strikes which can restrict bidding or lose them their account. Sending reminders and messages just delays the process - open an unpaid case after 48 hours and get it closed as soon as the 4 days is up. And add them to your blocked bidder list too.

Well I opened up the unpaid item case and have heard nothing. They obviously have no intention of paying. In 10 years of selling this is only the 3rd time it's happened so probably quite lucky really. It's just really annoying!
