Can someone please talk me through returns on eBay?

So buyer has requested a return on the basis that the item doesn't fit.

eBay is inviting me to issue a refund for the full amount plus postage costs. Is this right? Surely it should be the amount minus postage costs, in the basis that the item wasn't misdescribed, it just doesn't quite fit her. Or is this yet another new and inventive eBay way of fleecing sellers?

And surely I shouldn't issue the refund until after she's sent the item back?

I've never actually had to do a return before, despite having 500+ feedback, so I'd be grateful for advice.

they have to send it back first before you refund!

And yes, full refund - not just item cost. Then send cancellation request to get your final value fees refunded.

Right, so effectively I'm out of pocket by the cost of postage?

Bollocks. Angry
