Payment using 2checkout

I know that this section is for ebay only but I couldn't find a more relevant section so please forgive me!

Yesterday I bought clothes from a foreign website. Before being directed to paypal I had to verify delivery and payment details to an external website called 2checkout which showed me a different amount of money increased by about 10% more than the cost that the clothes website was saying that I had to pay. Then I paid using paypal which confirmed the new increased amount to be paid. The seller had charged me for both buying and shipping the clothes so I really don't understand what this extra 10% was. Even after I had completed the order the seller's website was showing that they had charged me the initial amount only.

I would like to ask if anybody knows anything about 2checkout and if the extra 10% I paid is fees for them, isn't the seller meant to pay them? Even paypal wouldn't charge this amount for converting from one currency to another as I have paid before in dollars and euros. I want to contact the seller but I want to know what exactly to ask.

Thank you in advance for any help!

reviews are not good at all from what I can see. Can you claim back your paypal payment?

So do you think it's the checkout website's fees and the seller might not even have a clue about it? I will have to ask my husband whether he could ask paypal for a refund when he comes back as he is abroad atm. Thank you!

why can't you login to paypal and open a dispute now - you already know the paypal password?

Because it's not my account I am waiting for my husband to see what he wants to in case I do any more stupid things :/ I have also contacted the seller and I'll see what they have to say. I just wanted to know who got the extra money they charged but all I can see is that 2checkout have got everything, not what they have paid the seller.

well if you are buying and using his account then I can't see a problem with opening a case. And more 'stupid things' - is that what he will say?

Hi Ninani,

I am 2Checkout's community manager. Can you please email Christy Fulton at [email protected]? She can look into your purchase and see what's going on.

Thanks,
Janeesa
