Ebay is down in the Uk at the present time. You cannot sign in. It has been reported. Does anyone know what is happening?

They never announce anything on Twitter until after whatever happened is fixed. Irritating as I have an auction with 1 bid and tons of watchers due to end in an hour!

Jacksonville14 · 14/09/2014 13:12

servers down here, Germany and USA apparently.

MillyCariad · 14/09/2014 13:13

O God mow that's annoying isn't it. I am hoping to put things on tonight so am photographing them now. Hope its back before your auction ends.

How do things stand if the site is down in that situation? I have something due to finish later with 16 watchers, and expected to make significantly more than it is currently fetching. Wonder what ebays standpoint on it is?

catsofa · 14/09/2014 13:40

May be back up, I've just listed something for sale although I struggled with it all morning, it may have been sorted now.

differentnameforthis · 14/09/2014 13:47

Same here in Oz. They have just announced a huge sale here for their birthday... dunno if they are doing something for this, or if they have server overload?

Wonder what ebays standpoint on it is?

In essence, it'll be "Whatever".

MillyCariad · 14/09/2014 13:53

Still not back up here Cat

Ugh still down - so my item is shown as sold, it usually goes for £80-85 and it sold for the opening bid of £45 with at least a dozen watchers, there's usually a frenzy of last-minute bids so I reckon I'm out about £35-40.

Does anyone know what happens in these situations? Yes the lady was the highest bidder when the auction ended but only because the site was down for the last four hours of the auction and no one else could bid. If this happened to you and you were the winner, if the seller contacted you about relisting the item would you be understanding and let them do it? I'm beyond pissed off about this.

MillyCariad · 14/09/2014 18:24

To be honest, if I won and the seller contacted me to say they wanted to relist because of a technical fault then I would not be happy. Wherever they are they watched and bidded and did everything correct and won it. Sorry, I do know exactly how you feel as the Seller though and I would be very angry with Ebay (even though its probably out of their control)

Trouble is the site has been working for the last couple of hours and has just gone again now for me.

mowmylawn When they where down last time we did get e-bay message to say any cancelled bids would not incur defects or relisting charges if they had a finishing time during the period they where down, don't know if they will do the same this time worth a try though.
