as she was packaging it.

I think she made an error in her BIN price, I got it for a very good price, but she's contacted me telling me that she's put a 1" hole in it she's and that she'll refund.

Can she get away with that?

See if she realists and then report her

AWombWithoutAFoof · 12/09/2014 17:56

I did this once and was aware it looked really dodgy, in my case I hadn't spotted damage when I photographed it. It wasn't BIN though.

BeyoncesCat · 12/09/2014 17:57

Could it be fixed? Maybe ask for it anyway?

BeyoncesCat · 12/09/2014 17:57

What was it?

WanderingTrolley1 · 12/09/2014 18:06

It was a cardigan.

I replied saying that I can probably repair the hole if she sends me a picture.

I've heard nothing since...

Yh she's trying it on! Hmm

lljkk · 12/09/2014 20:18

What price do you think you could have paid, what is price difference between what you paid & what you think other sellers got for same?

I've damaged stuff or found a problem only when I went to pack up. Maybe incompetent but not deliberate ducking obligations. So I give benefit of doubt but it's really up to you. Has she asked about sending a cancellation request?

WanderingTrolley1 · 13/09/2014 07:25

She replied saying that she's busy the weekend, but will get it sorted Monday.

That's the picture, I hope, and not the refund!

WanderingTrolley1 · 13/09/2014 07:27

I've seen cardigans of the same brand going for up to 4 times her BIN price.

lljkk · 13/09/2014 12:19

Wow, even 2nd hand and in that style, size & colour? She really didn't do her homework if so.

WanderingTrolley1 · 13/09/2014 21:12

Oh.

She's refunded payment. So, she had no intention of sending me a picture and letting me decide if I still wanted it.

Miffed about this as she obviously made a pricing mistake.

What do I do now?

OP posts:
Woodenheart · 13/09/2014 21:15

Tell her you didnt want a refund, & to post the cardigan.

then watch one of her friends list it 2 miles away

DancingDinosaur · 13/09/2014 21:26

Can't see that you can do much if she's refunded the money. And maybe she thought you'd be wanting a discount on it and it wasn't worth the hassle to her.

WanderingTrolley1 · 14/09/2014 00:27

Just seems unfair, is all.

I think I'll message her asking why she's refunded when she said she'd send pictures and that I was looking forward to receiving it.

OP posts:
lljkk · 14/09/2014 18:16

You can't make her send it, so if you really do want it,play nice, she might change mind.

You can punish her in lots of ways. What did it sell for with postage?

WanderingTrolley1 · 15/09/2014 08:11

Free postage. Total under £10!

glammanana · 15/09/2014 12:14

Report her for Non Performance far to many sellers doing this and it gets good sellers a bad name also refuse any cancellation request from her as she will have to pay her fees then,I had similar a couple of months ago when I won a next 3/4 Mac at the asking price (only bidder) she then messaged and said not able to send as she had left it in the garden and it got wet & smellie !!! I don't know why people don't just put a realistic asking price in the first place and stop making up stories which all know are probably false.

WanderingTrolley1 · 15/09/2014 16:23

Hmmm.

Messaged her yesterday asking why payment had been refunded. She's replied saying she'd send it anyway as it was her fault and would've been chucked, anyway.

DancingDinosaur · 15/09/2014 22:11

Thats nice of her. Sounds like she was trying to do the right thing then.

nickelbabe · 15/09/2014 22:16

not ebay but I've had to do that this week.

dd claimed the last of a bag I had, but I didn't know it was still listed on my website. lady sent in an order yesterday for it.
dd being toddler has done a right number on it. I know I won't get another (minimum order with supplier means it's not worth it in case I can't sell the rest) so I've had to refund order.

WanderingTrolley1 · 19/09/2014 18:41

Well, she did post it. There is a hole, which I can try (get mum) to mend.

I feel a little bad for assuming the worst now.

OP posts:
VeganCow · 23/09/2014 10:13

So she sent it for nothing? Thats fab.. What was her feedback, was it 100% before this, cos I would have assumed she was being truthful all along if so.

WanderingTrolley1 · 23/09/2014 17:19

Yes, Vegan. She refunded and sent it.

Her feedback was 100%. I guess I was doubtful as it was on for a low price.
