is there a way of doing this where neither buyer or seller get ANYTHING going against them? no fees, no strikes, no negative impact on account?

both parties agree to cancel as long as nobody is negatively effected.

yes - seller just sends a cancellation request and buyer accepts it. They need to select the option that the buyer changed their mind.
