Same old problem. Sold buyer collect item, winner wants courier.

I sold an item tonight. It clearly states buyer collect only.

He is 300 miles away and wants to send a courier.

I have refused and applied to cancel the sale. What do I do now? I knew he was trouble.

you just have to hope they don't refuse the cancellation. If they accept it, or leave it for 7 days untouched, it will close and you will get your fees back. Then add to blocked list and relist.

My blocked list is getting longer with every transaction!.

What happens if they refuse the cancellation? I put buyer collect only in SHOUTY CAPITALS in the title and description and under postage options.

Is a courier bad? Someone has just asked me if they can send one and I don't know whether to say yes or not.

I think if they say its damaged you have to refund them plus they can claim off the courier too.

It's happened to us before and we had to issue a partial refund.

yes it is bad - you have no proof of delivery, and no recourse if the item is damaged or lost in transit. Either arrange the courier yourself or cash on collection only. No exceptions whatsoever.

If they refuse the transaction you don't get your 10% FVF refunded.

The buyer has refused to cancel the transaction.

What do I do now?. eBay is requesting I complete the transaction.

Contact eBay and ask them to refund your fees. And if the buyer negs, which they probably will, ask eBay to remove that too.

Just keep messaging the buyer that he needs to collect, as stated in the listing.

keeping messaging someone who isn't going to collect is a silly idea and you will definitely get a neg for harassing them. You could send a million messages and he won't budge so please ignore that advice. speak to eBay and ask them to sort it out.

What was the item - it may be better on Gumtree or local Facebook pages. Plus no fees.

I mean in response to their requests for a courier, not just random messages

After a few of these I now find myself extending the shouty capitals to say 'STRICTLY NO COURIERS!"

I sold my DS's second hand buggy and I am so glad that I didn't agree to a courier as I had experienced enough hassle with the previous transaction :(

Exactly how do I appeal. Every time I click on the case it just says case closed.

I clicked on contact eBay and got redirected back to the resoloution centre.

The site just doesn't make sense.

I have exactly the same thing today!!! I listed DS old cotbed. And despite stating in the listing that it was it was collection only (in large shouty letters) and no courier and cash on collection. The buyer who won wants me to package cotbed (fecking impossible), wait for a courier she wants to send and accept PayPal. Not happening.

What's happened to eBay? It seems to be full of time wasters now.

this happened to me, he wanted own courier, i refunded his paypal, i'd put it in capitals several times that it was collection only, and no Paypal. Oh and he made out he was in England but turned out he was in TANZANIA and wanted me to wait 6 weeks. I got several abusive messages and neg feedback. Ebay did eventually remove it

Re listed same item… same wording..but new buyer wanted to send courier. I agreed, if he paid by money transfer. He paid by Paypal, and i refunded it again,, sigh… At least he didnt get abusive.
Had to buy packaging and pack awkward, heavy, delicate item myself..whole point was to avoid all this. Had to wait in all day for courier. And buyer only paid PART of the money by money transfer as he made up his own terms and said would only pay rest once got item. (oh and the next day the v confused courier turned up AGAIN, at crack of dawn, by mistake , somehow thinking he had another item to collect, and woke me up, I had to contact buyer, much confusion). Buyer got his item and I had to chase him for nearly 5 weeks to pay the balance. Amazingly, he did, he could have got away with not doing so. But what a hassle

So… I have a friend who works for a business that use their own courier. She said we could use it.. DP has and that's what I'm going to start doing… never let them arrange their own.
