Have sold an item on ebay. I know about asking for cash on collection and stated this in the listing. The buyer has paid by paypal. The item is less than a tenner to won't lose loads if something goes wrong. Would you just accept this and go ahead and hope that nothing goes wrong.
Also, do I contact the buyer or wait for them to contact me.

You can refund the payment with an accompanying email to the effect you have asked for payment on collection if you like? You'll lose the 20p paypal fees but nothing else. It's not in your interests to accept paypal in the circumstances.

I state cash on collection and still get people paying by Paypal! and I automatically refund them.
so one buyer left me a negative feedback for refunding him. (he was in Africa and I'm England! And he wanted to me to wait 6 weeks for him to collect it!)
I did ring eBay up and told them what had happened and they agreed to remove it. So although they are still crap regarding sellers.. it's at least 'slightly' better these days

actually it is to protect you - the scam is that if they pick up, there is no evidence that paypal will accept that they have the item. So they collect it, claim they didn't have it and get the item for free.

DH can't be bothered to refund and it is his account so on his head be it. I told him him the risks.

You need to politely ask buyer if they mind paying by cash instead. Ebay buyers always have the right to pay by Paypal. You cannot insist on cash.

I've accepted Paypal for collection items and had no problems or regrets.
