Bemused by email from Ebay

I have very occasionally made purchases through Ebay, but not in the past two or three years. I have never sold anything on the site.

I've received an email today subject "Important message about your automatic payment method on file" which says that £1.26 remains unpaid from a recent listing/sale. There's a link that will enable me to rectify matters, but I'm reluctant to click it even though the email looks very authentic.

Sender's email address is [email protected] if that's relevant!

Any advice, please?

just log into ebay the normal way to check everything is fine

It's almost certainly a scam - either they want you to enter your bank details etc or there's a virus. Just delete.

Thanks for confirming what I thought, all. Logging into Ebay and checking was of course the most logical thing to do, but I was worried I wouldn't get the password correct, etc. However, have persevered and as you would all have predicted I don't owe them anything!
