Weird seller's message

"Thank you for buying the Dartington Crystal Stone Dinner Set. The funds are still waiting to clear with paypal, as soon as the transaction has been verified and completed i will dispatch your item immediately and will leave you positive feedback.
Yours Sincerely"

PayPal is showing the payment is completed on 22 July, no hold on it or clear etc.

I've just noticed this seller has 0 feedback, should have seen before. Shall I just cancel the transaction?

I think, but not entirely sure, that ebay hold the funds in a clearing account, and don't release it until you've left feedback, so you might want to message her back and let her know

I think that for new sellers there's some different procedure with paypal payments - possibly if takes longer for the funds to be released? But I think they may well have to send you to you before that happens, so if they're waiting for the funds to be released to them, they'll be waiting a while.

This page suggests that it would take 21 days for the funds to be released (could be quicker depending on how soon paypal know the buyer is happy). And new sellers are a category this happens to.

OK thanks. Not fair to make me wait that long, imo, when the hold on funds seems to be there for buyer's protection.....

Exactly - I think the idea from paypal is that the seller is the one who needs to wait, not the buyer. I'd get in touch with the seller and explain.

I've send them this message - Hi, I have found this information - the funds are on hold your end as you are a seller with 0% feedback.

"If you receive a payment that is held by PayPal, the amounts held will show as "Pending" in a separate PayPal balance on your account page. You will still have access to all other funds in your PayPal account.

Your funds will immediately be released when one of the following occurs:

1. The buyer leaves you positive feedback
2. 3 days pass after proof the item was delivered**
3. 21 days pass without a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal filed on the transaction"

If you send the item out, I will leave positive feedback for you upon receipt and your funds will be released. It is not fair to make me wait 21 days for delivery and I will have to file a reversal on the transaction if you can't meet the estimated delivery date of 1-3 August. Sorry.

Don't say anything about specific f/back in the message, delete that, or at most say "I will leave appropriate feedback as soon as items are satisfactorily delivered."

One of the few times Ebay will side with sellers is when buyers make menaces about f/back, don't risk it.

I didn't mean that as a threat, just letting them know how they can get their funds more quickly.

Delivery date is specified as 1-3 August, so I will raise a dispute if it's not come by then - is that fair do you ink? Seller is currently not responding to me at all.

can you login into paypal instead and file not received there?

Really your seller should have sent out the item once funds paid into pay-pal as she will have received a message informing her to do so,I remember having to do this when I first started selling and had to cover the cost of postage etc myself for about a month but that is soon remedied when feed back is received and delivery confirmed,she really needs to post out and mark as dispatched with tracking no in her pay-pal account as well as in e-bay to get paid asap.

Well he/she is ignoring me now. I do want the item, maybe I shd just wait. What a pain.
